EXPERIENCE

Giovanni is the firm’s founding partner and has been practising intellectual property law since the mid-1980s. He began as of counsel at SIB – Società Italiana Brevetti and in 2009 was one of the founding partners of the Siblegal law firm, which he left at the end of 2017 to found SIB LEX. His main areas of practice include providing legal advice and assistance on patents, trademarks, designs and copyrights as well as on related agreements; he provides opinions and represents clients in civil proceedings and out-of-court proceedings as well as in anti-counterfeiting actions.

He represents market leaders and international corporations, universities, research organisations as well as Italian and international SMEs. He possesses a vast experience in assisting clients both in and out of court and in drafting agreements in a variety of sectors, especially manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, plant variety rights and services.

Giovanni has served on the Governing Councils of LES Italy (Licensing Executives Society) and of INDICAM (Istituto di Centromarca per la lotta alla contraffazione) and is a member of the most important intellectual property associations.

He has authored many articles for Italian and international journals and is frequently invited to speak at conferences and seminars. He is frequently invited to lecture at Rome’s LUISS Guido Carli University.
